At Sāvatthi.

'I shall point out, almsmen, and the graspable principles and the grasping.
Therefor listen.

And which, almsmen, graspable principles, which grasping?

Form, almsmen, a graspable principle; what there the desire and passion is, therefor there the grasping. Feeling, almsmen, a graspable principle; what there the desire and passion is, therefor there the grasping. Perception, almsmen, a graspable principle; what there the desire and passion is, therefor there the grasping. Inclinations, almsmen, a graspable principle; what there the desire and passion is, therefor there the grasping. Cognition, almsmen, a graspable principle; what there the desire and passion is, therefor there the grasping.

These are called, almsmen, graspable principles, this the grasping.'
