Aṅguttara Nikāya
Dārukkhandhasuttaṃ
So I learned:
On one occasion senior Sāriputta dwells at Rājagaha, at Vulture's Peak Mountain. OK then senior Sāriputta on a forenoon occasion, having got dressed, having taken up bowl plus robe, together with many almsman from Vulture's Peak Mountain, descended when he saw in a certain spot a great mass of timber. Viewing it, he addressed the almsmen:
'Do you not see, Messrs, that great mass of timber?'
'Just, Mr'
'When desiring, Messrs, a proficient almsman, with mental mastery, could direct that mass of timber thus to just earth.
Of what is that the reason?
It exist, Messrs, the aspect of earthiness in that mass of timber relying on what a proficient almsman, with mental mastery, could direct that mass of timber thus to just earth.
When desiring, Messrs, a proficient almsman, with mental mastery, could direct that mass of timber thus to just fluidity, to just heat, to just turbulence, to just attractive, to just unattractive.
Of what is that the reason?
It exits, Messrs, in that mass of timber, the aspect of fluidity, the aspect of heat, the aspect of turbulence, the aspect of attractive, the aspect of unattractive relying on what a proficient almsman, with mental mastery, could direct that mass of timber thus to just fluidity, to just heat, to just turbulence, to just attractive, to just unattractive.'
